This week, the QHR crew teamed up with our sister company, Wright Choice Homes, to deliver an impressive new transportable home to Barcaldine, QLD. This brand-new 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom home measured an impressive 7.0m wide by 18m long and was transported in a single shift.

Journey of Queensland House Removers’ Team from Caboolture to Barcaldine
The journey began at midnight on Sunday from our depot in Caboolture. The crew reached their stopover point in Roma by Monday lunchtime, where they rested to prepare for the next leg of their journey. They continued to Barcaldine that same night, arriving successfully on Tuesday afternoon. The total distance travelled was 1,100 kilometres, with the final 30 kilometres taking approximately 2 hours due to the rugged, corrugated red dirt road. This stretch tested the trucks, trailers, and the patience of Clayton, Brendon, and the rest of the team.
Unloading and Final Touches
Upon arrival at the site, the house was unloaded promptly. The team then headed to the nearest accommodation in Barcaldine for a well-deserved rest, a cold beer, and a hearty meal at the local pub.
On Wednesday morning, the team returned to the site and got straight to work. They began digging holes for the piers and successfully stumped the house by 1:00 pm. Given the long journey, the home travelled remarkably well. Despite having plaster ceilings and tiling throughout the bathroom and laundry, only a few minor cracks were found in the plasterwork. The Chippy team will return to fit the stairs, repair these minor cracks, and prepare the home for handover to the new owners.
